Glee broke my heart this week (SPOILERS AHEAD)

SPOILERS!!

So I started crying when Mike Chang was talking about his dream of dancing and when he was dancing by himself in the practice room. I lost it and turned into a blubbering mess when his mom showed up and she talked about how she had a dream too. 

It hit way too close to home for me. My parents always wanted a doctor. I compromised and went to school to be a vet. It wasn’t for me. And I lost out on a dream because I gave up part of who I was, what I wanted to be, to please my parents. It’s not worth it. The short term pain of hurting your parents, the hardship, is worth it to spare yourself the long term pain of giving up on yourself and your dream.

What really got me was Emma though. Her line about praying in her head and then praying on her knees because God heard her better, I swear someone went back in time to me in high school and college. When I was so deep into my addiction, I got on my knees, praying to a god I did not believe in to please make me better, please let me keep just one meal down, please let me love myself.

Stupid Glee. You’re usually just mindless entertainment, pretty people singing. Why you gotta go get so deep and personal to me all of a sudden? And now I am crying all over again just thinking about it. ARGH!

(Good thing though, the Brittany flash pep rally made me really smile. You go! Also, anyone find it weird that they didn’t cast Bernardo or any of Anita and Maria’s friends or the girlfriends of the Jets? Most cast lists are more than four parts long, JUST SAYING!)

Oh Glee LOL

Nudiemuse and I stood on the Wicked stage at the Pantages theatre in LA and it took everything I had not to belt into song. If I wasn’t tone deaf, I would have. (Muse can sing but she had never seen/heard Wicked before that night).

We also got to go back stage. We touched costumes. We saw the shoe rack. WE TOUCHED THEM. We took a ton of photos that were yelled at for taking. We met the cast. 

It was awesome. I feel you Rachel and Kurt. I FEEL YOU.
